Mr. Verl B. Zanders
Verl Zanders, Founder, Chairman and CEO of Z-Tech Corporation, a successful business offering skills and services in advanced computer-based information technologies; and, system engineering and development.
Verl has distinguished himself in a career spanning more than 30 years in the public sector. He is a nationally recognized expert in Federal Government contracting and has frequently been a speaker at national small business procurement events, and conducts workshops to promote small business development. Verl is a staunch advocate for the growth and development of small and minority businesses that create jobs and promote economic development.
During his tenure with the government, Verl served as the former Director of Small Business Programs at the Office of the Secretary, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services for over 10 years. Verl also served a number of years as a Procurement Center Representative (PCR) for the Small Business Administration. These small business advocacy positions provided him a unique perspective and understanding of how the federal government works, particularly in the federal acquisition/procurement arena. Veri took the institutional knowledge gained while serving in the government, leveraged it in the true spirit of entrepreneurship and started his own business as a Federal contractor.
After retirement in 2000, Verl established Z-Tech Corporation. Although Z-Tech Corporation is a relatively young company, it already has achieved an unusual level of rapid growth, with a strong record of past performance, and has earned recognition for its achievements at the National, State and local levels.
Mr. Zanders maintains active involvement with several community organizations including, Board Member of the Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce; Board Member of Rockville Economic Development, Inc. (REDI); a member of the Professional Services Council; the Tech Council of Maryland; the Association of Corporate Growth; the Potomac Officers Club; and has conducted workshops at Howard University Business School's Small Business Development Center.
