Life Insurance

Our donors and friends who may no longer need the security of a life insurance policy and/or reduce their estate tax liability, can name Potomac Ridge as the beneficiary, co-beneficiary, remainder, or residual beneficiary of their life insurance policy. In doing this, the donor may receive significant tax rewards and provide for a substantial gift to Potomac Ridge.

For more substantial tax benefits, you can designate the Potomac Ridge Behavioral Health Foundation as the owner and beneficiary of the policy. Upon the transfer, the owner can usually deduct the current cash value of the policy (or the net cost of the policy if less than the current value) as a charitable contribution. Future premium payments, if required, also qualify for a charitable deduction.

How do you make a gift of life insurance?
In most cases, it is as simple as naming the Potomac Ridge Behavioral Health Foundation as the full or partial beneficiary of the policy. Please contact your issuing insurance company for details.
