Despite noticeable and dramatic improvements in treatment, cancer remains a leading cause of death in Maryland.

That’s why Sheila Bornestein of Rockville attends Shady Grove’s Annual Cancer Screening Day every year. “The program is excellent, organized and can prove to be lifesaving.” She’s also impressed by the dedication of her Cancer Outreach Coordinator Candice Shoobridge-Moran, who goes the extra mile to discuss results. “Consistent screenings may lead to early detection,” says Shoobridge-Moran. “It’s an important way to help our community stay healthy.”
