Shady Grove Adventist Hospital is a not-for-profit community Hospital.

All contributions go directly toward caring for patients and delivering community services. The Hospital invests its financial resources back into the Hospital and the community it serves.

Bequest by Will

A significant way to make a gift to Shady Grove Adventist Hospital Foundation is by remembering the hospital in your will. A bequest can offer tremendous benefits to the generations that will turn to Shady Grove for health care in the future.

You may make a bequest in several ways:

1. Gift a percentage of your estate to the Foundation
2. Give a specific amount of money to the Foundation
3. Gift the residuary of your estate to the Foundation

Sample Bequest Wording

Since we cannot predict future medical needs, we recommend that your bequest be unrestricted so that your gift may be directed to the area of most need at the time we receive your bequest.

Sample wording for a ‘residuary bequest’ (that is a gift made after all other heirs are remembered and all expenses and debts paid) could include: “All the rest, residue and remainder of my estate I give, devise, and bequeath to Shady Grove Adventist Hospital.”

Sample wording for a “percentage bequest” could include: “I give, devise, and bequeath to Shady Grove Adventist Hospital _____ percent (____%) of my net estate.”

Sample wording for a “specific bequest” could include: “I give, devise and bequeath to Shady Grove Adventist Hospital the sum of _____ dollars ($ ______). “

Heritage Society

The Heritage Society has been established to recognize and honor those individuals who include Shady Grove Adventist Hospital in their estate plan through bequests, gift annuities, life insurance and/or trusts.

How do I become a member of the Shady Grove Adventist Hospital Heritage Society?

You can become a member of the Heritage Society by including Shady Grove Adventist Hospital in your estate plan through a bequest, a gift annuity, a life insurance policy and/or a trust.

Recognition

For your thoughtful and loving membership in the Heritage Society, your name will be presented on the Shady Grove Adventist Hospital plaque that will be prominently and permanently displayed at Shady Grove Adventist Hospital.

Heritage Society members will be invited to an annual recognition/appreciation luncheon. The purpose of the luncheon will be to acknowledge and to thank Heritage Society members personally and presently, rather than posthumously.

Individuals who have remembered Shady Grove Adventist Hospital are asked to notify the Foundation Office so that we may recognize and honor you as a member of our Heritage Society.
