• Hi Sharon, I will try to keep this as short as I can. This is in reference to my sister. She is 67 and is very much able to care for herself. She had a biopsy done on her right breast along with surrounding tissue done on 2/25/08. This is the pathology report. Invasive poorly differentiated ductal carcinoma with mild lymphoplasmacytic infiltrate, nottingham histogic score 9, grade lll (tumor size-7mm.No lymphovascular invasion identified. Right breast tissue excision: benign breast tissue with mild fibrocystic changes. With this explained I will now try to explain my question. The surgeon was ready to do the surgery ASAP (he was wonderful in explaining as much to us as he could as to what next and what to expect and the importance of ASAP surgery. I asked (no I begged) my sister for us to get her an appointment at MD Anderson in Houston, Texas which is where I live and she lives in Clute, Texas. We were able to do this. She has an appointment with a surgeon on April 9,2008 at MD Anderson. Please help me know what we should do. Should we wait that long or should we get her surgeon to do this ASAP. I do know that if it is done at MD Anderson, there would be no second guessing for me as to her treatment or her outcome whatever it may be, but I am deeply scared as well as concerned about the waiting. Should we get an appt. with the oncologist hemotologist while we are waiting to see if it has spread to her blood or other parts of her body. We do not know yet the results of the sentinal lympth nodes. I am so in hopes that you can help me find some answers. I believe our nerves can wait if we feel that it is the right thing to do. • I am coming in for a breast biopsy because I found a lump. But my provider says it has a halo effect and that looks like a benign tumor so I am not sure why I need a biopsy. Also I am nursing and I am not sure what it means for that.

• Does Shady Grove have a support group for persons with CML? Especially persons on Sprycel. The closest group I have found is at Holy Cross in SS. which is just too far. Thank you - MB
