5th Annual Golf
Tournament Review
Nearly 150 golfers converged at Indian Spring Country Club on September 23, 2005 with only one thing on their minds - playing golf to save lives! There was no shortage of food and fun for those gathered to support Washington Adventist Hospital.
The $63,000 (net) proceeds from the Fifth Annual Golf Benefit hosted by the Washington Adventist Hospital Foundation targeted the hospital’s Surgical Services department as beneficiary.
More than a million dollars are scheduled to be spent in this department to replace and upgrade equipment to maintain this dynamic service. With rising health care costs on all sides of the medical industry, philanthropic partnerships with the community grow in importance every year.
The Golf Benefit included four hole-in-one contests, a putting contest, and contests for longest drive and closest-to-the-pin for men and women.
Primary sponsors at the "Birdie" level this year included The Clark Construction Group, The Foulger Pratt Companies and Turner Construction.
The Benefit could not be accomplished with out the able help of volunteers from the Washington Adventist School of Radiography.
