All investigators are required by the IRB to complete NIH Clinical Research Training.

The goal of the course is to provide a standard knowledge base for investigators by providing practical information and guidance to enhance the quality of research conducted at Washington Adventist Hospital.

To achieve this goal, the following course objectives have been established:

  1. To be aware of the ethical issues involved in human subjects research;
  2. To become familiar with the roles and responsibilities of the investigator and institution when conducting clinical research;
  3. To have an understanding of FDA oversight of clinical research; and,
  4. To become familiar with how developments in science and health are reported by the media and how to work effectively with reporters.

Knowledge of the objectives covered in the course will help assure proper compliance with regulatory requirements and assure the safety of patients participating in our research studies.

Upon completion of the NIH Clinical Research Training course, please send an email confirmation of course completion to CCVR@adventisthealthcare.com.
