Recovery Guidelines
Whether your treatment is medical, catheter-based or surgical, it takes time for your body to adjust and recover. The following are important steps to your well-being:
Follow the instructions provided by your physician and other members of the health care team. This includes:
- Diet and nutrition
- Activity and exercise guidelines
- Use of medications
- Lifestyle changes
- Schedule an appointment with your physician.
Ask questions! Many people find it helpful to prepare and bring a list of questions or concerns to the office visit.
Be alert for signs and symptoms and notify your physician if you are unsure of your progress.
Consider joining a cardiac rehabilitation program. Many people benefit from a structured exercise program and lifestyle change counseling.
Your healing and recovery may be influenced by any other medical conditions you might have, such as diabetes and high blood pressure. It's important that you attend to these as well.
