Washington Adventist Hospital Offers Free Back Pain Seminar

Takoma Park, MD - Washington Adventist Hospital will hold a free seminar on back pain on Wednesday, Nov. 19, from 7:30-9 p.m. in the hospital cafeteria conference room B.

Experts from the Adventist HealthCare Rehabilitation & Sports Medicine Center will explain the anatomy of the back, causes of back pain, ways to prevent injuries and how to determine when to seek professional help for pain.

The National Center for Health Statistics estimates that 80 percent of Americans will experience back pain at some point in their lives. Fourteen percent of all new visits to physicians are because of back pain.

"Back pain can impose significant limitations on a person's productivity and overall quality of life, but back pain is often preventable, as well as treatable," says Judy Lichty, director of Prevention and Wellness for Washington Adventist Hospital.

For more information on the seminar, call (800) 542-5096.
