Golf Tournament Raises Record Amount for Washington Adventist Hospital

Foundation Golf Tournament Nets Approximately $50,000 for Radiation Oncology

Takoma Park, MD - Community members, physicians and local businesses came together to raise a record amount of money at a golf tournament in support of Washington Adventist Hospital's Radiation Oncology Unit.

The golf tournament, sponsored by the Washington Adventist Hospital Foundation and held at Indian Spring Country Club in Silver Spring, Maryland, netted approximately $50,000, the highest total ever and 38 percent more than the amount raised at last year's event. Proceeds from the event will help purchase a state-of-the-art linear accelerator, which precisely targets high energy radiation beams to destroy malignant tumors.

"We're very grateful to our community friends for their commitment to support the clinical services we provide," said Ken Bauer, President of Washington Adventist Hospital. "This financial support plays an important role in ensuring we provide our community with the highest standard of care."

Established in 1988, the Washington Adventist Hospital Foundation exists to support the clinical services and programs of Washington Adventist Hospital. The hospital, located off of University Boulevard in Takoma Park, provides an array of health care services for the community including cardiology care, open-heart surgery, radiation oncology, maternity services, behavioral health services and many other programs.
