Adventist HealthCare Elects New Members to Board of Trustees

Rockville, MD - Adventist HealthCare this morning announced the election of three new members to its Board of Trustees. The new trustees are: Philip A. Besler of Princeton Junction, New Jersey; Scott D. McClure, of Silver Spring, Maryland; and David Carter Stump, MD, of Potomac, Maryland.

Mr. Besler, a Certified Public Accountant, is President of Besler Consulting, a healthcare consulting firm in North Brunswick, New Jersey. With 26 years of healthcare experience, Mr. Besler has handled a broad range of healthcare financial and operational issues. Prior to establishing his own firm in 1986, Mr. Besler held positions with the New Jersey Department of Health, KPMG Peat Marwick, and Ernst & Young.

Mr. McClure, an attorney specializing in tax, business and finance, is a partner at Hogan and Hartson, a Washington, D.C. law firm which he joined in 1991 following his graduation from Duke University School of Law. Mr. McClure’s other professional experience includes a Summer Associate position in the Office of the General Counsel of the General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists.

Dr. Stump, a medical doctor, is the Executive Vice President for Drug Development with Human Genome Sciences in Rockville, Maryland. Prior to joining Human Genome Sciences in 1999, Dr. Stump held leadership positions in clinical research with Genentech, Inc. In addition, Dr. Stump has served on the faculty of the University of Iowa College of Medicine and the University of Vermont College of Medicine.
