Adventist HealthCare Executive Named a Director of HealthCare Financial Management Association

James G. Lee, Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Adventist HealthCare in Rockville, Md., has been named as a Director of the HealthCare Financial Management Association(HFMA) board. HFMA is a national organization that focuses on improving the financial management and business performance of health-care related organizations.

“I am honored to be recognized by an organization known for providing quality solutions and innovations to health-care finance professionals in order to meet the challenges of the modern health-care environment,” said Lee, whose three-year term begins June 1. “I look forward to helping HFMA guide and continue its solid reputation as an excellent resource to help health-care organizations maintain fiscal health.”

HFMA provides a range of services to more than 34,000 members and is the nation's top membership organization for health-care financial executives and leaders. Lee, a member of HFMA since 1989, has held roles with the organization’s Board of Examiners and National Advisory Councils, as well as served in numerous chapter leadership positions with the Hawaii Chapter. He has received the Muncie Gold Merit Award, Reeves Silver Merit Award and Follmer Bronze Merit Award for Outstanding Service to HFMA.

“James’s appointment is evidence of his unflagging commitment to quality and financial integrity that we at Adventist HealthCare witness in his day-to-day activities as CFO of our organization,” said William G. “Bill” Robertson, President and CEO of Adventist HealthCare. “His work builds a solid foundation upon which Adventist HealthCare can accomplish its mission to demonstrate God’s care by improving the health of people and communities through a ministry of physical, mental and spiritual healing.”

Lee has been with Adventist HealthCare for more than six years and previously served as Chief Financial Officer of the organization’s Washington Adventist Hospital in Takoma Park, Md.  He has been involved with a range of community service projects including Rebuilding Together, which assists homeowners in need and Community Tax Aid, which provides tax filling assistance to low-income people.

Lee, a Potomac resident, holds a Master’s of Health Administration degree and a Master’s of Public Health degree, both from Loma Linda University in Loma Linda, Calif.
