Hospitals to be Honored at Washington Wizards Game Against Memphis Grizzlies

Washington, DC - Friday, January 25 is Sister to Sister Foundation Night at the Washington Wizards game, against the Memphis Grizzlies, at the Verizon Center in downtown D.C. (easily accessible by Metrobus and Metrorail).  During a halftime ceremony, Sister to Sister Foundation Founder, Irene Pollin, will recognize Shady Grove Adventist Hospital and Washington Adventist Hospital, partners for their 8th Annual Woman's Heart Health Fair in Washington, DC, part of a year-long campaign which has now grown to 17 cities.

The Washington, DC health fair will be held at The Verizon Center (enter at F Street), from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Friday, February 1. The Woman's Heart Health Fair is sponsored by the Sister to Sister Foundation, Inc., a national 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to prevent heart disease among women through free cardiac screenings.  Visit http://www.sistertosister.org/ to learn more.

WHAT: Sister to Sister's founder, Mrs. Irene Pollin, will present officials from Shady Grove Adventist Hospital and Washington Adventist Hospital an award recognizing their unparalleled support for the organization.  The hospitals will also have personnel on hand - on the concourse level - proving mini-screenings throughout the evening.
WHEN: Tip-off is at 7 p.m.

BACKGROUND: Free heart health screenings will be provided by the Sister to Sister Foundation and Shady Grove Adventist Hospital and Washington Adventist Hospital at this year's National Women's Heart Health Fair, at the Verizon Center on Friday, February 1.  Attendees can take advantage of free screenings for cholesterol, blood glucose levels, blood pressure, body mass index and family health history, while obtaining individual results on site, with counseling that explains the results and describes the next steps. In addition to the free screenings, there will be interactive medical presentations that focus on women, lifestyle seminars, cooking demonstrations, fitness programs, stress-reduction workshops, vendors, raffles and giveaways.
