Adventist HealthCare Named to List of Top Businesses in Maryland

Adventist HealthCare has been named number 8 among a list of 53 exceptional businesses and organizations in the state of Maryland for its commitment to expanding access to health care for all in the communities it serves and being a "best place to work."

Adventist HealthCare, the largest provider of uncompensated and charity health care in Montgomery County, was honored by The Gazette of Politics and Business in part for expanding access to health care for the uninsured by opening community clinics in Silver Spring and Germantown. Adventist HealthCare's Center on Health Disparities was noted for its Qualified Bilingual Staff program that trains and certifies bilingual employees in proper interpreting skills in order to improve patient-provider communication during a medical encounter.

The organization's annual $1 million health and wellness community outreach effort, which includes free childhood immunizations, cardiac and vascular screenings, cancer screenings, and free and low-cost mammograms, was also highlighted. Adventist HealthCare was further recognized as a "best place to work" for its outstanding commitment to helping its employees achieve professional fulfillment and work/life balance.
