Potomac Ridge Behavioral Health Names Susanna Nemes, Psy.D., to Governing Board

Rockville , MD - Potomac Ridge Behavioral Health is pleased to announce the appointment of Susanna Nemes, Psy.D., to its Governing Board. Dr. Nemes is founder, president and CEO of Social Solutions International, Inc., a Silver Spring-based research and evaluation firm dedicated to the creation of positive change for underserved populations. She will serve on the Board for a three-year term ending in 2012.

Since establishing Social Solutions International in 2004, Dr. Nemes has served as principal/co-investigator on several Small Business Innovation Research projects and other grants for the National Institutes of Health, the National Institute on Drug Abuse and the U.S. Department of State. Dr. Nemes has also published more than 40 research papers on various behavioral health- and substance abuse-related topics. She also partners with public health organizations to conduct research into the needs of underserved populations in the U.S. and abroad.

"Dr. Nemes' breadth of experience in clinical psychology and her growing body of research in behavioral health and substance abuse will complement the strategic leadership of our governing board," said Sako Maki, President of Adventist HealthCare Behavioral Health Services. "Additionally, her expertise in identifying and addressing health care disparities, and her work in fostering cultural diversity will be a phenomenal asset to our organization."

Dr. Nemes holds a doctorate and a master's degree in clinical psychology from Temple University. She received a bachelor's degree in psychology from Harvard University. She was recently named one of "Maryland's Top 100 Women" by the Maryland Daily Record.  She is also a member of the Association for Medical Education and Research in Substance Abuse, the Latino Council on Alcohol and Tobacco Prevention, the American Psychological Association and the Diversity Committee/Voices of Danya for Danya International.
