Widerlite Named Chief Development Officer for Adventist HealthCare

Rockville, MD - Adventist HealthCare of Rockville has chosen longtime executive Paula S. Widerlite to serve as the health-care organization's Chief Development Officer.

Widerlite, who will continue in her role as Vice President of System Strategy for the health system -- a position she has held since 1997 -- will lead the non-profit organization's various foundations as they redefine their approach to philanthropy and strive to enhance fund-raising results. Adventist HealthCare has identified philanthropy as a key strategic initiative to help continue expanding access to health care for the communities it serves.

"Paula's guidance, leadership skills and the obvious passion she has for our organization's mission, makes her the ideal candidate to build the success of our fund-raising activities and direct the development of our 21st century approach to philanthropy," said William G. "Bill" Robertson, President and Chief Executive Officer for Adventist HealthCare.

Widerlite, who has been with Adventist HealthCare since 1992, currently leads the organization's efforts in Physician Relations, Communications and Market and Business Development. She is also Chairwoman of the Reginald S. Lourie Center for Infants and Young Children. Widerlite lives in Bethesda with her husband and two children.
