Adventist Rehabilitation Hospital of Maryland Appoints Tony Touma to Governing Board

Rockville, Md. – Tony Touma of Silver Spring has been appointed to the Adventist Rehabilitation Hospital of Maryland Governing Board for an initial three-year term, which began on July 26, 2012, and ends December 31, 2015.

Touma is currently the Co-Owner of C.O.R.E. Physical Therapy in Washington, D.C. He has also worked as the physical therapist for the National Basketball Association’s (NBA) Washington Wizards for the past six seasons.

“We are pleased to have Tony join the Adventist Rehabilitation Hospital Governing Board,” says Brent Reitz, Vice President and Administrator of the hospital, which has facilities in Rockville, Takoma Park and Silver Spring. “We are confident that his physical therapy expertise will help us in continuing to provide high-quality care to our patients.”

Prior to co-owning C.O.R.E. Physical Therapy, Touma held several physical therapy positions at organizations including Sports and Spinal Physical Therapy; Capital Spine and Pain Management; Ashtabula County Medical Center, in Ohio; Lansing General Hospital, in Michigan; and St. Joseph Medical Center, in Michigan.

“I am honored to serve on the Governing Board,” Touma says. “In this role, I look forward to continuing the hospital’s mission of providing the best possible outcomes for patients.”

Touma received his Bachelor of Science in Anatomy and Physiology from Andrews University in Michigan in 1989. Afterward, he completed his Master of Science in Physical Therapy in 1990 from Andrews University. In addition, Touma is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapist (FAAOMPT).
