As part of his new duties, Sackett will oversee Adventist Rehabilitation Hospital of Maryland, Adventist Behavioral Health and Adventist Home Care Services to ensure each organization continues to provide exceptional care to its patients and expands services to the community. In addition, Sackett will serve as chair of the governing boards of the three organizations.

“John’s years of experience as a health-care leader and a team builder will help Adventist HealthCare and its entities provide even better coordinated care for our patients,” said Terry Forde, president & CEO of Adventist HealthCare, Montgomery County’s first and largest health-care provider.

Sackett was named president of Shady Grove Adventist Hospital after serving for 24 years as the president and chief executive officer of Avista Adventist Hospital in Louisville, Co.

He received a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Walla Walla College in 1980, and his Master's in Health Administration from Loma Linda University in 1982. He is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and has served on many community boards and legislative councils.
