Tina VanDenvander
Patient: Elizabeth Campbell, Montgomery Village, MD

Location: Adventist HealthCare Shady Grove Medical Center

Service: Breast Cancer

Doctor: Paul Thambi, MD

Elizabeth Campbell had been free of breast cancer for nearly 12 years and diligently scheduled her annual follow-up appointments. After breaking her leg in fall 2015, she was shocked to learn that cancer had returned.

Her oncologist, Paul Thambi, MD, recommended an MRI, which showed a spinal compression fracture and tumor. Campbell was then referred to Amin Amini, MD, a neurosurgeon and medical director of Adventist HealthCare’s Neurosciences Program. In December, Dr. Amini performed surgery to correct the fracture and remove the tumor.
