Health Screenings
Health screenings available at the 2013 Love Your Heart event will include:
- Cholesterol and Glucose finger stick test (available for the first 300 people or until 2:45 p.m.)
- Blood Pressure
- Body Composition
- Body Mass Index
- Waist to Hip Ratio
- Sleep Apnea Screening
- Personal Counseling Sessions
Free Heart-Healthy Cooking & Living Demonstrations
Chefs will perform cooking demonstrations featuring a heart healthy appetizer, entrée, and dessert.
Audience members will also learn the health benefits of laughter in a special "Laughter Yoga" session led by Shari Delaney, Certified Laughter Yoga Leader. In addition, attendees will have the chance to perform seated stretching exercises with members of Shady Grove Adventist Hospital’s cardiac rehabilitation team.
Free Heart Education Talks
Medical experts from both Washington Adventist Hospital and Shady Grove Adventist Hospital will discuss women’s heart health, heart disease risk factors and prevention, and heart rhythm problems such as atrial fibrillation.
