Dr. Steven Israel's Healthy Commuter Tips
  • Managing anger and preventing road rage:
  • When an incident occurs on the road, reframe the incident in your mind. Remember, incidents that occur on the road are rarely intentional.
  • If someone cuts you off on the road, do not consider his/her actions a personal affront. Don’t take it personally.
  • Individuals who suffer from anxiety and depression may have a tendency to overreact when incidents occur on the road. These individuals should consult a mental healthcare provider to help identify ways to better manage day-to-day stress, including stressful commutes.
