12/15/2009 - Statement from Adventist HealthCare on Recalled H1N1 Vaccine
As you may have read in the news, some children’s doses of the H1N1 vaccine have been recalled. Adventist HealthCare has provided H1N1 vaccinations to hundreds of local residents over the past few weeks through clinics with Shady Grove Adventist Hospital, Washington Adventist Hospital, our other local facilities and numerous community locations. The H1N1 vaccine that Adventist HealthCare has provided to children through our vaccination clinics is NOT included in the non-safety related vaccine recall by Sanofi Pasteur. The pediatric doses of the H1N1 vaccine that we have used to date were provided by the Montgomery County Department of Health and are not part of the vaccine recall at this time.
Additional information about the recalled vaccine is available from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
