About Us

Adventist HealthCare Physical Health & Rehabilitation, the first and only acute rehabilitation hospital in Montgomery County, first opened our doors in January 2001 to offer specialized inpatient and outpatient treatment for persons with functional limitations. We care for patients 18 years of age or older and, under special circumstances, emancipated minors.

Our Services

We offer comprehensive rehabilitation programs for traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, strokes, amputations, orthopedic injuries and surgeries, sports related injuries, work-related injuries, cardiopulmonary conditions and neurological disorders.

Our Locations

Adventist HealthCare Physical Health & Rehabilitation has two hospital locations: a free-standing 55-bed hospital next to Adventist HealthCare Shady Grove Medical Center in Rockville, MD and a 22-bed hospital located on the 5th floor of Adventist HealthCare Washington Adventist Hospital in Takoma Park, MD. Adventist HealthCare Physical Health & Rehabilitation also provides outpatient rehabilitation services both at our hospital location in Rockville and our community-based center in Silver Spring, MD.

    Our amputee support group focuses on the emotions and challenges of living life as an amputee. It is the groups focus to be positive, creative and resourceful in examining an amputee's experiences.

    Our brain injury support group acts as a resource for those suffering from both traumatic and non-traumatic brain injury. Group members are encouraged to bring family and friends to the group meetings.
