Intensive Outpatient Programs

If you, your client or a loved one who is 18 years or older experiences chemical dependency with or without a mental illness, turn to an Adventist HealthCare intensive outpatient program for help. Rely on us for assistance transitioning back into everyday life after inpatient psychiatric care, or choose intensive outpatient care to begin your behavioral health treatment.

Keep Your Daily Routine

With intensive outpatient care, patients live at home and work or attend school during the day. Therapy sessions take place at night so participants can stick to their everyday routines as much as possible.

What Does Intensive Outpatient Care Involve?

During an intensive outpatient program, patients get comprehensive assessments of their mental health and substance abuse patterns and:

  • Explore how alcohol or drugs affect feelings and behavior
  • Identify stressors that lead to substance abuse
  • Learn how to address problems without drugs or alcohol
  • Follow the 12-step model to treat addiction
  • Discover how to help prevent relapse
