Tricuspid Valve Surgery

The tricuspid valve is a tri-leaflet valve that sits between the right atrium and right ventricle. The tricuspid valve may leak when there is pulmonary hypertension that is either primary or secondary to other valve disease. If there is significant leakage, there is an advantage to repairing the valve. A variety of techniques can be used including a variety of annuloplasty repairs designed to tighten the ring around the valve leaflets so that the edges may come together more tightly. Prosthetic rings are available for this purpose as well.

Adventist HealthCare Washington Adventist Hospital offers the latest treatment for tricuspid valve disease, including minimally invasive tricuspid valve repair or replacement.
