Driver Rehabilitation

After you experience an injury, illness or age-related changes, driver rehabilitation can determine whether it’s safe for you to get back on the road. If you’re cleared to drive, the program will train you on adaptive equipment and skills that make it easier and safer to operate a vehicle.

Adventist HealthCare Physical Health & Rehabilitation can refer you to driver rehabilitation through Brant’s Driving School (Telephone: 877-395-7011), a certified driving school.

Do I Need Driving Rehabilitation?

You may benefit from driver rehabilitation after experiencing a condition, injury or medical procedure such as:

Driver Testing & Training

You’ll begin driver rehabilitation by taking a test of your physical and mental abilities, vision and driving skills. If you pass the evaluation, Brant’s Driving School will help ensure your safety on the road by recommending next steps, which may include a driving refresher course or training on adaptive equipment. If you don’t pass the evaluation, you’ll get advice on alternatives to driving, such as using public transportation or relying on family and friends who drive.
