Ways to Give

Select a topic below to learn more about all of the ways you can support the work of the Lourie Center.

2018 Adopt-a-Family

We invite you to participate in our “2018 Adopt-a-Family” program this holiday season. Our Adopt-a-family program will match you with Lourie Center Head Start families in Montgomery or Prince George’s counties to help fulfill their Holiday Wish List.

It’s a great way to join together with family, friends and coworkers to spread some holiday cheer and make a difference in the life of another family.

Who will my donated items benefit?

Our participating families come from the Lourie Center’s Early Head Start (EHS) and Head Start Programs (HS). One of the Lourie Center’s core programs, EHS and HS serves 352 at-risk children from birth to five and their families, as well as pregnant women, through parent-child socialization groups and weekly visits to their homes or child care services.

Families qualify for EHS and HS if they fall under the 2018 Federal Poverty Guidelines, which for a family of four is an annual income of no more than $24,600.

What is the impact of my gift?

The holiday season signifies a time of joy, but it also places an additional strain on many parents in our community who are already struggling to provide for their families.
