Charity Dorazio

Chief Information Officer

Charity Dorazio is a proven executive leader in the health information technology sector with over 25 years of progressive experience across two continents. Currently serving as the Chief Information Officer (CIO) of Adventist HealthCare, Charity has played a critical role in leading teams to sustain the organizations IT infrastructure to support patient care, streamline operations and enhance data security.

Charity began her career in health information technology in 2006 at the Primary Care Coalition of Montgomery County where she quickly gained a reputation for successfully leading several complex electronic medical record (EMR) transitions and the deployment of analytics tools to improve outcomes. She has a deep understanding of the clinical and business workflows and a strong background in information technology platforms. She won several industry awards based on her leadership and performance.

She came to Adventist HealthCare in 2015 as the Director of Ambulatory systems where she implemented an EMR for the ambulatory practices within Adventist HealthCare. She was also pivotal in driving the health system’s interoperability strategy. She led several teams and was promoted to AVP of Applications, Integrations and Data and subsequently served as the Deputy Chief Information Officer before becoming the CIO.

She has served on healthcare boards; her current role is serving as co-chair of Mercy Health Clinic in Montgomery County Maryland.

She previously lived in Ireland for several years where she worked in the telecommunications sector as a solutions architect for Ericsson systems. She resides in Montgomery County, Maryland with her husband and two sons.
