Associate Vice President, Patient Experience
Marcello Khattar serves as the Associate Vice President of Patient Experience for Adventist HealthCare, leading system-wide strategies to elevate the voice of the patient and embed service excellence into the organization’s clinical and operational workflows. Collaborating closely with executive, clinical, and operational leadership, Marcello ensures that patient insights drive actionable improvements — fostering a culture of accountability and service excellence across Montgomery County’s largest health system.
With nearly 20 years of leadership experience spanning healthcare and luxury hospitality, Marcello brings a unique, cross-industry perspective to patient experience. Before joining Adventist HealthCare, he served as a patient experience leader at Montefiore Medical Center in New York, where he advanced system-wide patient experience initiatives across a large academic health system. Earlier in his career, Marcello led global brand experience programs for Starwood Hotels & Resorts and oversaw guest experience operations for multiple Ritz-Carlton properties, refining his expertise in building high-performance service cultures.
Marcello’s diverse background allows him to apply proven service and hospitality principles to the complexities of healthcare delivery — creating innovative strategies that enhance patient satisfaction, strengthen employee engagement, and improve operational performance.
Marcello holds an MBA from New York University and a B.S. in Hotel Management from Penn State University. His expertise includes service transformation, voice of the patient programs, employee engagement, and experience design. Passionate about aligning patient experience with clinical quality and operational excellence, Marcello helps advance Adventist HealthCare’s vision to become the trusted choice for exceptional care in every community we serve.
