Ken Bauer Appointed President of Washington Adventist Hospital

Takoma Park, MD  - Kenneth W. Bauer, an executive with more than 25 years of health care experience, has been appointed President of Washington Adventist Hospital.

Bauer was overwhelmingly recommended for the position by a search committee that included members of the Washington Adventist Hospital Board of Directors, representatives from the hospital's Medical Staff, and leaders from the hospital and Adventist HealthCare.

"Ken has a wealth of experience and we are fortunate to have someone with his skills leading Washington Adventist Hospital," said Bill Robertson, President & CEO of Adventist HealthCare. "I am confident this will begin a period of sustained growth for the hospital's services as Washington Adventist Hospital continues in its role of providing high quality health care services for its community."

Bauer's experience includes eight years of service as President & CEO of Hinsdale Hospital, a 460-bed acute care teaching facility in suburban Chicago. He also has served as CEO of Michael Reese Hospital, a large teaching hospital in Chicago, was a senior executive for a large, multi-hospital health care system, and served as Chief Operating Officer of Porter Memorial Hospital in Denver.

Washington Adventist Hospital is licensed for 354 beds and offers an array of health care services including cardiology and cardiac surgery, mental health services, radiation oncology, maternity services, emergency medicine and surgical services.

The hospital is part of Adventist HealthCare, a non-profit organization based in Rockville, Maryland that operates three acute hospitals, a psychiatric hospital, a rehabilitation hospital, seven nursing centers, a large home health care agency and other health care services in the Washington metropolitan region and northern New Jersey.
