Hospital to Host Free Stroke Screening for the Community

Stroke is the 3rd Leading Cause of Death in the U.S.

Takoma Park, MD - Washington Adventist Hospital will host a free stroke screening on Sunday, April 27 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the hospital's conference center.

Stroke is the third leading cause of death in the United States and the leading cause of adult disability. Approximately 3,000 people in the United States die each week from stroke.

The event will include a blood pressure check, carotid ultrasound screening, cholesterol screening, and glucose screening. Registration is not necessary, and for more information call (301) 891-6204. The hospital is located at 7600 Carroll Avenue in Takoma Park.

Washington Adventist Hospital is a 322-bed community hospital that offers a number of health care services including cardiology, open-heart surgery, cardiac research, behavioral health services, radiation oncology, emergency medicine and maternity care, among others. The hospital employs some 1,700 health care professionals and is part of the Adventist HealthCare system.
