Washington Adventist Hospital Names New President

Adventist HealthCare this morning announced the appointment of Jere Stocks to be President of Washington Adventist Hospital in Takoma Park, Maryland. Mr. Stocks, who will begin in his new role on February 21, 2005, was previously the Chief Operating Officer at Creighton University Medical Center (CUMC) in Omaha, Nebraska.

"Jere is a talented and effective executive, and we are very pleased that he is joining the Adventist HealthCare team," said William G. Robertson, President and Chief Executive Officer of Adventist HealthCare. "Washington Adventist Hospital has served our community for nearly 100 years, and we are excited for the hospital's future as Jere arrives to head-up the strong leadership team that is already in place. "

Mr. Stocks brings to Washington Adventist Hospital more than 20 years of healthcare experience. In addition to experience as a Chief Operating Officer with two different healthcare institutions, Mr. Stocks' background includes managing a physician billing and practice management service, serving as Director of Strategic Planning at Lakeland Regional Health System in St. Joseph, Michigan, and serving as a Senior Manager in the national healthcare consulting practice of KPMG.

Mr. Stocks received his Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Andrews University in Berrien Springs, Michigan, and earned his M.B.A. from Loyola University in Chicago, Illinois.

Washington Adventist Hospital  is a 318-bed, state-of-the-art acute care facility located in Takoma Park, Maryland. Washington Adventist Hospital is Montgomery County's only complete cardiac center, performing 650 open heart surgeries and more than 7,000 heart catheterizations each year.
