Adventist HealthCare Announces New Associate Vice President for Cardiac and Vascular Services

Rockville, Md.Adventist HealthCare has appointed Moussa Elbayoumy as the organization’s Associate Vice President for Cardiac and Vascular Services.

In this newly created position, Elbayoumy will oversee the operation and clinical services, outreach activities, program development and research in the area of Cardiac and Vascular medicine at Washington Adventist Hospital in Takoma Park and Shady Grove Adventist Hospital in Rockville.  In addition, he will serve as a resource for Hackettstown Regional Medical Center —the organization’s New Jersey-based hospital.

“According to the American Heart Association, cardiovascular disease remains the number one killer of Americans, and one in three adults has some form of this disease,” said William G. “Bill” Robertson, President and Chief Executive Officer of Adventist HealthCare. “As one of this region’s long-standing leaders in cardiac and vascular care, Adventist HealthCare is committed to changing these statistics through our quality programs, community outreach, and research, and we are pleased to have Moussa Elbayoumy with his experience and demonstrated expertise leading us in this effort.”

Elbayoumy comes to Adventist HealthCare from St. Francis Health Center in Topeka, Kansas, where he served as director of the Heart and Vascular Institute and service line administrator. In addition, from 1990 to 1994, Elbayoumy served as managing director and chief technologist at Washington Hospital Center in Washington, D.C.  He brings with him more than 20 years of leadership and management experience, including 16 years in senior management positions, and a proven record in program development and outcomes improvement.

Elbayoumy graduated from Ain Shams University Medical School in Cairo in 1980 with a doctor of medicine degree and attended the Master’s in Healthcare Administration program at the University of Maryland.
