Former Maryland Senator Hogan to Join Adventist HealthCare’s Board of Trustees

Patrick HoganRockville, MD - Adventist HealthCare is honored to welcome former Maryland State Sen. Patrick J. (P.J.) Hogan as a new member of the organization’s Board of Trustees for a three-year term. Senator Hogan currently serves as the Vice Chancellor for Government Relations for the University System of Maryland (USM).

Committed to public service, Mr. Hogan emerged into the field as Legislative Assistant to former Congresswoman Connie Morella (R-Dist. 8) from 1990-1994. He then served as District 39 State Senator from 1995-2007, representing Northern Montgomery County, including Montgomery Village, parts of Germantown, North Potomac and Darnestown.

Much of Mr. Hogan’s work is fueled by his passion for helping Maryland achieve the highest quality higher education system, while making it accessible and affordable to as many students as possible. He believes that a well-educated and healthy society are the most important things we can do to ensure the quality of life in our region.

“With 13 years as Maryland’s State Senator and his long roots as a Montgomery County resident, P.J. is a well-respected, experienced community leader and will be an asset to our board,” said William G. “Bill” Robertson, President and CEO of Adventist HealthCare.

Mr. Hogan has been an active supporter of Adventist HealthCare’s efforts in expanding access to health care services in the region through his instrumental role in helping to open the Shady Grove Adventist Emergency Center in Germantown in 2006, and through his work in serving on the Adventist HealthCare Clarksburg Community Hospital Advisory Board in 2010.

“I have always been extremely impressed with the health-care services provided by Adventist HealthCare and its deep commitment to the quality of life in our community. I look forward to learning even more about the organization as a board member,” Mr. Hogan said.

Mr. Hogan received his Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. He has lived in Montgomery County for 21 years and currently resides in Montgomery Village with his wife and two children.
