LifeWork Strategies Receives 2012 Workplace Excellence Awards

Rockville, MD - LifeWork Strategies has received the 2012 Workplace Excellence and Health & Wellness Trailblazer Awards from the Alliance for Workplace Excellence (AWE). Both awards recognize employers that are setting the standard among businesses that promote professional fulfillment and personal wellness for their employees, not only in the workplace, but also at home and within the community.

In order to be considered for the AWE Awards, LifeWork Strategies and this year’s 70 award recipients completed a rigorous assessment process involving a comprehensive application and employee interviews. The assessment was led by an independent review panel of professors, PhD professionals and doctoral candidates in business, industrial and organizational psychology and human resources. The employers that were selected for this year’s Awards demonstrated exemplary commitment to Workforce Demographics; Management Practices; Employee Engagement; Corporate Social Responsibility; Diversity and Inclusion; Total Rewards Programs and Benefits; and Employee Voice Survey.

LifeWork Strategies, which is part of Adventist HealthCare, one of the largest employers in MontgomeryCounty, provides several programs to its employees to help them balance work and life, including:

  • An Employee Assistance Program that assists employees and their families with various challenges they may experience including emotional and financial stress;
  • Flexible work schedules;
  • Celebrations and awards to recognize employees for their exceptional work and personal accomplishments, such as earning new certifications, completing half-marathons and predicting the American Idol winner!
  • Time off and subsidies to participate in education opportunities, health assessments and screenings, to enhance employees’ jobs and well-being
  • Opportunities for staff to present and implement their creative ideas and approaches to solving problems and mentor interns and each other
