Our Lactation Meet & Greet at Shady Grove Medical Center in Rockville, MD, offers expectant parents the chance to connect with our board-certified lactation consultants in a welcoming and supportive setting. During this session you'll gain insights into your baby’s feeding journey, explore our donor milk program and get expert advice on skin-to-skin support, breastfeeding and chestfeeding techniques, positioning, and more.
This is your opportunity to ask questions, address any concerns about breastfeeding or pumping, and receive guidance tailored to your needs and goals. We recommend scheduling your visit during your second or early third trimester for the best preparation.
Registration is Required
Online registration is required so that all participants in the group will have comfortable access. Please arrive at The Birth Center 15-minutes prior to your scheduled tour to allow proper time to check-in.
Adults Only
Please note that this tour is for adults only and you are allowed to have one (1) companion join you.
Birth Center Parking & Wayfinding
- Parking is available in the visitor lots at the Main Entrance of the hospital.
- Enter the hospital's Main Entrance and complete the visitor check in process.
- Please do not take the Main Entrance elevators behind the check in desk, as they will not lead you to the correct location.
- After entering the hospital, turn right and walk down the concourse and past the Surgical Services waiting area.
- Take elevators to the 3rd floor. They open into The Birth Center Waiting Room.
Inclement Weather Policy
In the case of bad weather, we follow Montgomery County public schools scheduling. If school starts late, morning tours will be canceled; if school is canceled, all tours will be canceled. Please call to confirm tour cancellations.
