Adventist HealthCare is proud to offer Child & Babysitting Safety (CABS), an education program from the American Safety & Health Institute (ASHI). The goal of this 4-hour class is to help students develop the knowledge, skills and confidence to effectively supervise and manage children in their care.
Who Should Attend?
CABS is intended for children ages 12 and up who are planning to provide babysitting services for young children and infants. This program is not designed to meet any regulatory requirements for childcare providers. Participants must be escorted into class by an adult. Emergency contact information is required. No drop-offs.
Course Topics
The following topics will be covered in the course:
- Preparing to Babysit
- Safety on the Job
- Caring for kids and their basic needs
- Problem recognition and getting help
- Handling basic emergencies
- Skills Practice and Scenarios
Certification
A (2) two-year ASHI certification eCard is issued to each participant upon course completion.
