This is a 2 hour in-home private American Heart Association - Friends and Family Infant or Toddler CPR class. The class is for parents, family members, babysitters, or other caretakers responsible for children's safety who do not need a full CPR certification. The class is 2 hours and available during evenings and weekends.
This class consists of two components:
1) Discussion of General Safety
The general safety component of the class will cover topics such as:
- Infant or toddler safety
- Injury prevention
- Crib safety and
- General child proofing of your home
2) Injury Prevention and Hands on CPR Practice
The CPR component of the class includes hands on practice and will cover recognition and treatment of cardiopulmonary emergencies, infants CPR and relief of choking for infants.
The AHA Family and Friends CPR book and handouts from the Consumer Product Safety Commission and the American Academy of Pediatrics will be provided.
