Psychiatric Technician Academy

The Psychiatric Technician Academy at Adventist HealthCare is an innovative program designed to support those seeking to start a career in patient care services as a Psychiatric Technician. The Academy offers classroom and clinical training, in a hospital setting, to prepare candidates to transition to work in an inpatient psychiatric setting.

Program Overview

The Academy operates 1-2 cohorts per year, each with approximately 6 participants. The training will be offered at Shady Grove Medical Center and the participants will be placed on one of the inpatient behavioral health units upon completion of the training period. Participants will have the opportunity to expand placement to other entities that utilize psychiatric technicians.
