About Fazeena Shanaz
Fazeena Shanaz, MD, FACE, FACP, DAOBM, is a board-certified endocrinologist with Adventist Medical Group and the Medical Director of Endocrinology at Adventist HealthCare Shady Grove Medical Center. She strives to provide the patient care she would expect to receive, using informed and thorough decision-making.
Before her time with Adventist HealthCare, she was an endocrinologist and Interim Director of Endocrinology at Luminis Health Anne Arundel Medical Center in Annapolis, MD.
She earned her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Sri Jayewardenepura in Sri Lanka. She completed her internal medicine residencies at the Sinai Grace Hospital in Michigan and the National Hospital of Sri Lanka, where she also completed her residency in general surgery. She completed her endocrinology fellowship at Howard University Hospital in Washington, D.C.
Outside of work, she enjoys canvas painting, gardening, cooking and exploring the outdoors.
