About Mitra Hashemi
Mitra Hashemi, MD, FACP, is board certified in internal medicine and is a diplomate of American Board of Obesity Medicine and joined Adventist Medical Group in 2014. She graduated medical school from Tehran University of Medical Sciences. Dr. Hashemi completed her residency in internal medicine from MedStar Union Memorial Hospital where she also served as chief resident. She completed her fellowship in geriatrics from the University of Maryland Medical Center.
Dr. Hashemi has special medical interests in preventive care and weight management. She is a Fellow of American College of Physicians and was recognized as a Washingtonian magazine "Top Doctor" in 2019.
In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family and speaks Farsi fluently. Dr. Hashemi practices at the Adventist Medical Group Primary Care office in Germantown, MD.
