Aquilino Center for Healing Campaign
Aquilino Center for Healing Concept
About the Campaign
We are delighted to share an exciting campaign to elevate services at our Shady Grove Adventist Aquilino Cancer Center. We envision Aquilino’s third floor as a new Center for Healing, a space specifically designed to address the emotional and psychological needs of patients through new group and individual therapies and innovative, FDA-reviewed clinical trials. Most notably, Aquilino will be spearheading emerging clinical trials using psilocybin therapies for cancer patients.
Community Cancer Care Renewed
This purpose-built space will be a model for what’s next in cancer care and research at a local level, more deeply integrating our oncologists, therapists, researchers and integrative care experts in one space. The project, designed by Gensler Architects, also will allow us to bring new wellness programs to patients and their families. We are eager to shape the way community cancer providers around the U.S. care for the mental health of their patients.
A Legacy of Holistic Care Continues
This space will advance the original vision of the Aquilino Cancer Center by putting groundbreaking therapies and research under one roof, alongside the treatments and services in place in the center since 2014. By taking this bold step for our patients, Adventist HealthCare advances its 112-year tradition of holistic healthcare and wellness for its neighbors. It’s time for a new era of whole-person cancer care in local communities, starting here in Montgomery County.
