Drug Information

Candesartan is used to treat high blood pressure, and is in a class of drugs known as angiotensin II receptor antagonists. At the time of this writing, no evidence of nutrient or herb interactions involving candesartan was found in the medical literature.

Potential Negative Interaction

  • Potassium
    Angiotensin receptor blocker drugs such as candesartan have caused significant increases in blood potassium levels.Potassium supplements, potassium-containing salt substitutes (No Salt, Morton Salt Substitute, and others), and even high-potassium foods (including Noni juice) should be avoided by those taking candesartan, unless directed otherwise by their doctor.
