A Future Filled with Hope
As the flurry of predictions about 2023 starts to subside, I find myself agreeing with Yogi Berra, who said, “It’s tough to make predictions, especially about the future.”
Yogi is right about one thing – no one really knows what the future holds. But there is an important reason for embracing the future with optimism and anticipation that is found clearly in the words in Jeremiah 29:11, GW: I know the plans that I have for you, declares the LORD. They are plans for peace and not disaster, plans to give you a future filled with hope.”I love that phrase, “a future filled with hope.” On a personal level, it enables us to look at the trajectory of our individual lives with the assurance of God’s care for us. On an organizational level, it helps us to chart the way ahead with the promise of God’s guidance.
“A future filled with hope” gives focus to our Mission of extending God’s care through the ministry of physical, mental and spiritual healing. We believe that God strengthens and blesses every aspect of our organization as we seek health and healing for our patients and all those we serve. We acknowledge the presence of the divine in our day-to-day work together – whether by helping to create optimal environments for healing or by serving the people around each of us. I feel so blessed to be a part of our Adventist HealthCare family and our hope-filled future.
As we begin a new year, my most fervent prayer is that in each of our individual lives we may experience God’s love as the basis for our hopes and aspirations. And I pray that as a result we will be an organization that exhibits God’s healing power and care in everything we do.
