Meet Tony

Tony is a safety officer for The Lourie Center School at Adventist HealthCare’s The Lourie Center for Children’s Social & Emotional Wellness. He is instrumental in fostering a nurturing and emotionally safe environment for all, both within the classroom and beyond. His commitment to patient care is reflected in his leadership of the crisis intervention team, where he guides technicians who provide compassionate, hands-on support to our students and team members. Whether addressing minor worries or responding to complex emotional needs, Tony ensures that every individual feels heard, supported and empowered to thrive.

Q&A with Tony

We recently sat down with Tony to learn more about her time at Adventist HealthCare.

Why The Lourie Center?

I was ready for change. I am always trying to grow professionally, personally and financially. The Lourie Center’s mission statement spoke to me, and a few former colleagues and friends were already working here.

How long have you been at The Lourie Center?

I have been at The Lourie Center for a year now.

Who inspired you to pursue the career you have today?

I wouldn’t say anyone specifically. I’ve always been someone people naturally gravitate towards when they need help or want to engage. So, it felt natural to pursue a career that reflects that.

What’s the best advice you can give to someone who just started their career?

Be consistent with who you are and what you do. That builds trust, fosters collaboration and helps you develop a strong rapport.

When you are at work, how do you motivate yourself?

I make it a habit to stay positive and help others to create a supportive work environment. We have fun when we can, it helps lighten the mood and manage the workload on busy days.

Tell us something about you that most people don’t know.

I met Serena Williams many years ago, and she was super nice, humble and sweet in person.

What is a fun fact about you that may surprise people?

Even though I’m approachable, witty, and have a funny sense of humor, I can also be reserved and quiet.

What has been your favorite project you have worked on?

That’s a tough one. I just wrapped up year 24 working with students, so there have been many. For me, the most rewarding part is seeing students grow, and have success and celebrating them along with the team members who work hard every day.

Share anything else you would like people to know about you and/or your role!

I am a huge fan of Wonder Woman, Alabama football and the Washington Commanders!
