Q: DID YOU ALWAYS WANT TO BE A DOCTOR?
Dr. Ostovari: Yes, I’ve always dreamed I would be a physician. My brother and sister are both family medicine doctors and I appreciated the impact they had on other people’s lives, helping their patients to feel healthy and happy. I also wanted to have a great impact on people’s lives, and I believe one of the best ways to pursue this goal is by working as a physician. I’m so grateful to be a part of this journey.
Q: WHAT DREW YOU TO FAMILY MEDICINE?
Dr. Ostovari: I thought about working as a family medicine physician when I did my family medicine rotations in medical school. It was challenging and gave me the opportunity to treat patients with diverse medical issues and focus on health prevention.
Q: WHAT IS THE MOST REWARDING PART OF YOUR WORK?
Dr. Ostovari: The most rewarding part of my work is to see the patient come back to my office with a smile. The smile is from the satisfaction they get from experiencing positive results under my care.
Q: WHAT ARE SOME HOBBIES THAT YOU ENJOY IN YOUR SPARE TIME?
Dr. Ostovari: I enjoy doing cardio exercises at the gym and spending time with family and friends. I also travel around the United States and to many different parts of the world. I went to Germany, Dubai and to my home country, Iran. I like to be familiar with different cultures, different places and different people.
Q: IF YOU COULD GIVE YOUR PATIENTS ONE TIP TO LIVE A HAPPIER AND HEALTHIER LIFE, WHAT WOULD IT BE?
Dr. Ostovari: Have a healthy diet, exercise regularly and keep a positive attitude. When it comes to living a happy and healthier life, I promote disease prevention to my patients as much as I can. When I do diet counseling for my diabetic patients, I help explain the type of diet and exercise plans they should adopt. It’s about living a healthy life before health issues arise.
