An exercise test performed on a treadmill to determine how well a patient’s heart can handle work. The test looks at heart rate, blood pressure, electrocardiogram (EKG) and generally how you feel after a brisk walk or run. Through this test, we can predict if a patient is at risk of a heart attack.
- Stress Echocardiography: Following the stress test, an echocardiogram is performed to take a closer look at the heart.
An imaging test using iodine that shows blockages in heart arteries. This test is usually performed on patients that complain of angina or chest discomfort.
Children with heart concerns can be tested close to home, too. The hospital also provides cardiac care and testing for our tiniest patients in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit in collaboration with the pediatric cardiologist.
