Sacred Moments: Holy Week, Passover, and Easter

Beginning tonight, Jews are observing Passover, the commemoration of the liberation of the Jewish people from slavery in Egypt approximately 3,500 years ago.

Christians are approaching the end of Holy Week, which commemorates the trial, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ some 2,000 years ago. These are the events at the very heart of the Christian faith, and we mark them with solemnity and joy.

My family and I will be participating in services with our church this weekend, and I find in Easter an opportunity to reflect deeply on the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, the heart of my own personal faith.

Many of our Adventist HealthCare staff and their families will be participating in Passover or Easter services this weekend.  My prayer is for God’s greatest blessings for you and those you love during these days of reflection and faith.

(We will return to our series on “Everyone Matters” next week.)
