Daffodil Baez, FACHE, MPH, MBA, has served as President of Adventist HealthCare Fort Washington Medical Center since January 2025.

Daffodil joined Adventist HealthCare in 2023 as the Chief Executive Officer for Howard University’s academic medical group of physicians and faculty, also known as the Faculty Practice Plan. Through various initiatives including the transition of the Electronic Medical Record and revenue cycle platforms, she quickly strengthened clinical quality metrics and improved operational and financial performance.

In addition, Daffodil developed numerous strategic partnerships throughout the National Capital Region to drive business development and enhance organizational recognition in the healthcare industry, as well as throughout the Washington, D.C., community. Her involvement to create youth apprentice and Master of Health Administration (MHA) graduate residency programs, support Federally Qualified Health Centers and help returning citizens, in collaboration with the Mayor’s Office and Department of Corrections, is a testament to her sincere commitment to improving total community health and well-being.

Daffodil started her career as a financial analyst and then transitioned to practice management. While serving as the assistant director of Clinical Operations at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, she streamlined operations through process improvement strategies, galvanized performance to meet strategic targets and directed the launch and ongoing operations of a joint venture campus with Texas Health Resources. Prior to that role, Daffodil held other leadership positions in Texas and Arizona.

She is currently a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.


Kenneth K. Fisher, MD

Kenneth K. Fisher, MD, is the Vice President and Chief Medical Officer at Adventist HealthCare Fort Washington Medical Center.

Dr. Fisher has acted as Chief of the Division of Anesthesiology for many years, as well as having served in other leadership roles such as President of the Medical Executive Committee and member of the hospital’s Board of Trustees ⎯ all prior to joining the Adventist HealthCare system. Other previous roles include having served as Partner of the Fort Washington Medical Group, where he was chiefly responsible for operations and business development. Beyond anesthesiology, Dr. Fisher’s expertise includes physician recruitment, client relations, financial oversight, and policy and program development. He has been a strong advocate for the hospital, especially the decision to join Adventist HealthCare and strengthen the surgical team.

Dr. Fisher has spent most of his career serving as an anesthesiologist across the Washington metropolitan area. Prior to joining Fort Washington, he served at Columbia Hospital for Women, Washington Hospital Center, and Veterans Affairs Medical Center. Dr. Fisher received his bachelor’s, post-baccalaureate studies, and Doctor of Medicine degrees, all from Howard University in the nation’s capital.


Schallery Colbert, MBA, MHA, BSN, RN

Schallery Colbert, MBA, MHA, BSN, RN

Schallery Colbert, MBA, MHA, BSN, RN, serves as the Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer at Adventist HealthCare Fort Washington Medical Center. In this role, Schallery is responsible for providing leadership oversight of nursing clinicians, guidance on caregiver and provider engagement, and direction for the financial and clinical outlook of the hospital.

Schallery has a comprehensive background in hospital leadership, having previously served as Interim Chief Nursing Officer at Fort Washington Medical Center since May 2024 and as the director of Surgical Services since October 2022. In her role as Interim Chief Nursing Officer, Schallery led the nursing team’s focus on increasing patient experience scores by implementing a program for nurse leader rounding with a focus on med/surgery patients and partnered with the corporate office to establish a robust pipeline for nurse externs and the residency program.

As the director of Surgical Services, Schallery increased first case starts from 26% to 76% and implemented a cost savings of supplies by 61%. Prior to joining Fort Washington Medical Center, Schallery worked in various leadership and nursing roles at Howard University Hospital, Inova Alexandria Hospital, University of Maryland Prince George’s Hospital, Glen Echo Surgery Center and Baystate Health Medical Center in Massachusetts.

Schallery earned her master’s degree in healthcare and business administration at University of Maryland Global Campus, her bachelor of science in nursing from Bowie State University and her associate degree of nursing from Prince George’s Community College. She is a member of the American Organization for Nursing Leadership, the American Nurses Association, and the Association of Operating Room Nurses.

JeVon Honor joined Adventist Healthcare in 2016 serving as the Sr HR Business Partner for Home Care Services, Ambulatory Care and Post-Acute Care Services. JeVon has been a Healthcare Human Resources professional in a variety of specialized roles for over 20 years. She has devoted her career to guiding her clients through complex Human Resources and business solutions. In addition, throughout her strategic HR leadership roles, she has partnered with leadership to redesign onboarding programs, reduce new hire turnover and increase employee engagement to world class. She has a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Hampton University and a Master of Arts in Human Resources Development from George Washington University.


Vanessa S. Murray, MBA

Vanessa S. Murray, MBA

Vanessa S. Murray, MBA, serves as the Associate Vice President of Finance.

Vanessa is an accountant with more than 15 years of experience in financial management and auditing. She comes to us from Shands Lake Shore Regional Medical Center in Lake City, FL, where she served as Market Accounting Director. While there, Vanessa is attributed with optimizing workflow and eliminating overtime in the accounting department. She also implemented monthly balance sheet reconciliations and brought cash reconciliations current after two years of non-reconciliation.

Vanessa has experience with internal auditing, providing management support for general accounting, payroll and accounts payable, maintaining a fixed asset system, and training of accounting staff.

Vanessa earned her MBA with a concentration in finance from La Sierra University in Riverside, CA, and bachelor of science in accounting from Northern Caribbean University in Mandeville, Jamaica.
