Eunmee Shim, RN, MSN
Eunmee Shim serves as President of Adventist HealthCare Fort Washington Medical Center. Eunmee’s years of experience as a hospital executive, an ambulatory services leader and a strategic planner is helping prepare Fort Washington to meet the needs of the expanding community.
Prior to being named to her current position in August 2019, Eunmee also served as Chief Strategy Officer for Adventist HealthCare, where she oversaw new business initiatives for one of the longest-serving healthcare systems in the D.C. region. As Chief Strategy Officer, she worked with Adventist HealthCare’s boards and executives to support the development of the organization’s strategic plan.
Eunmee joined Adventist HealthCare in 2011 and served first as the Chief Operating Officer at Adventist HealthCare Shady Grove Medical Center. Under her leadership, the hospital achieved numerous accolades and awards for quality care and performance. Eunmee has also served as an Executive Fellow for the national Baldrige excellence program and has led Adventist HealthCare’s Baldrige initiative.
Eunmee holds a Master of Science in Nursing Informatics from Columbia University School of Nursing, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Sahmyook University in Seoul, Korea.
Anna Cazes, DNP
Vice President, Chief Operating Officer, Chief Nursing Officer
Anna Cazes serves as the Vice President, Chief Nursing Officer and Chief Operating Officer. In this role, Anna provides leadership oversight of nursing clinicians, guidance on caregiver and provider engagement, and direction for the financial and clinical outlook of the hospital.
Anna has a comprehensive background in hospital leadership. Some of her distinguished career highlights include reducing med-surge turnover, securing multimillion-dollar graduate medical education and bond restoration funding, utilizing Lean Six Sigma to reduce turnaround times, large scale physician recruitment, and supporting the implementation of a 42-bed freestanding behavioral health facility. One of her most notable career accomplishments is serving as the primary lead for the renovation and build of a 40-bed emergency department, operating room, women’s post-surgical unit, and intensive care. In addition to her clinical knowledge, Anna has vast education leadership experience. She has served as an assistant professor, lecturer, and course coordinator at various higher education institutions in Baton Rouge.
Anna earned her Doctorate in Nursing Science from Louisiana State University Health Science Center, her Master of Science in Nursing from Southern University, and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Loyola University.
Kenneth K. Fisher, MD
Vice President, Chief Medical Officer
Kenneth K. Fisher, MD, is the Vice President and Chief Medical Officer at Adventist HealthCare Fort Washington Medical Center.
Dr. Fisher has acted as Chief of the Division of Anesthesiology for many years, as well as having served in other leadership roles such as President of the Medical Executive Committee and member of the hospital’s Board of Trustees ⎯ all prior to joining the Adventist HealthCare system. Other previous roles include having served as Partner of the Fort Washington Medical Group, where he was chiefly responsible for operations and business development. Beyond anesthesiology, Dr. Fisher’s expertise includes physician recruitment, client relations, financial oversight, and policy and program development. He has been a strong advocate for the hospital, especially the decision to join Adventist HealthCare and strengthen the surgical team.
Dr. Fisher has spent most of his career serving as an anesthesiologist across the Washington metropolitan area. Prior to joining Fort Washington, he served at Columbia Hospital for Women, Washington Hospital Center, and Veterans Affairs Medical Center. Dr. Fisher received his bachelor’s, post-baccalaureate studies, and Doctor of Medicine degrees, all from Howard University in the nation’s capital.
Vanessa S. Murray, MBA
Director of Finance
Vanessa S. Murray, MBA, serves as the Director of Finance.
Vanessa is an accountant with more than 15 years of experience in financial management and auditing. She comes to us from Shands Lake Shore Regional Medical Center in Lake City, FL, where she served as Market Accounting Director. While there, Vanessa is attributed with optimizing workflow and eliminating overtime in the accounting department. She also implemented monthly balance sheet reconciliations and brought cash reconciliations current after two years of non-reconciliation.
Vanessa has experience with internal auditing, providing management support for general accounting, payroll and accounts payable, maintaining a fixed asset system, and training of accounting staff.
Vanessa earned her MBA with a concentration in finance from La Sierra University in Riverside, CA, and bachelor of science in accounting from Northern Caribbean University in Mandeville, Jamaica.
