John Sackett, President
John Sackett joined Adventist HealthCare Shady Grove Medical Center in April 2013 with a successful record of working with the community, physicians and hospital staff to create a world-class patient experience. Prior to joining the Adventist HealthCare leadership team, John served 24 years as President and Chief Executive Officer of Avista Adventist Hospital, a comprehensive medical center in Louisville, Colo. John received a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Walla Walla College in 1980, and his master's degree in Health Administration from Loma Linda University in 1982. He is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
Daniel Cochran, Vice President Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer
Daniel Cochran joined Adventist HealthCare Shady Grove Medical Center in April 2011. Dan has more than 25 years of experience in healthcare financial management, operational leadership and strategic planning. During his career, Dan has helped hospitals and healthcare organizations improve operational and financial results and develop new business lines. Prior to becoming part of the Shady Grove team, Dan served as Vice President of Finance for the Reading Hospital and Medical Center in Pennsylvania, where he developed and implemented financial improvement plans and oversaw day-to-day fiscal affairs. Dan received his Bachelor of Science degree in Professional Accountancy from The Pennsylvania State University and his Master of Business Administration degree from Troy State University. Additionally, Dan has earned the distinction as a Fellow in the Healthcare Financial Management Association.
Patsy McNeil, Chief Medical Officer
Dr. Patsy McNeil began her service to Shady Grove as an Emergency Department physician with our partners from U.S. Acute Care Services (USACS), formerly MEP. She served as Chief of Patient Experience for MEP and Director of Patient Experience for USACS East and Mountain division, creating programs that shaped and improved patient-centered caregiving. Earlier in her career, Patsy worked for six years as an emergency physician at Medstar Washington Hospital Center in Washington, D.C. She earned her medical degree at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine and completed her residency in emergency medicine at the University of Cincinnati. She is active in a number of professional organizations, including the American College of Emergency Physicians, the Beryl Institute’s Patient Experience Global Community, the American Academy of Communication in Healthcare and the Association of Physician Leaders.
Joan Vincent, Vice President of Patient Care Services and Chief Nursing Officer
Joan Vincent joined Shady Grove Medical Center in December 2014 after serving in the same role for 13 years at Sibley Memorial Hospital in Washington. Prior to that, Joan worked at Sibley as a critical care educator, director of education and training and clinical coordinator. Throughout her career, Joan has worked in a variety of nursing positions, including teaching at the Washington Hospital Center School of Nursing, as well as clinical nursing positions in medical/ surgical, critical care and professional education. Joan earned her bachelor’s degree in Nursing from West Virginia University School of Nursing. In addition, she holds a master’s degree in Cardiovascular Nursing from Catholic University and master’s degree in Leadership from Marymount University. Joan also achieved Advanced Certification as a Nurse Executive and graduated from the Johns Hopkins inaugural class, “Transforming Health Systems for Accountable Care.”
